ABOUT YM
YEBOMAYCU is an art project in progress, that expresses itself through paper toy design. The theme of YM (read Yebo Maycu) is t-shirt, in this case, paper toy-shirt.
YM project was born to have fun and to play with art and logic and to share it with others, so it’s layered with few sub-projects:
- TOYS FOR US is a galley with YM designs, as well as other custom toys made for other projects and contests, downloadable for free in PDF file.
- Logical D.R.K. is a project where art meets logic, where the main image hides inside the logic game. Every riddle is created by YM and has it’s paper toy-shirt design. Both the logic game and paper toy-shirt are downloadable for free in PDF file.
- There is also another project that’s hidden inside the site and you have to find it. We can only give you one piece of advice: SPEAK TO THE BOSS!
YOUR YEBOMAYCU is new project in collaboration with Boonika, whose aim is to create a gallery of paper-shirt toys from creative people from all over the world, so here is your chance to contribute to the global paper toy movement.
Brief history of Yebo Maycu
The idea of ‘yebo maycu’ was born long time ago, doodling around in a book during one of those ‘interesting’ school classes you can’t avoid, and was finally realised at the beginning of 2007. It centered around the paper-toy idea. We are not going to enter into the semantic side of the project; those who understand, understand, and those who want to understand, will find the way to understand, but yes, there is a t-shirt around here.
Yebo Maycu invites you just to play or to use your creativity; your hands and your brain. You choose.
The ‘doodling guy’ from earlier was Marko Zubak, and was studying fine arts in Barcelona. The classes actually were interesting, but he had (and still has) so many ideas in his head, that he learned how to doodle and listen during class at the same time; otherwise the ideas would fly away. Marko?s main occupations are painting and sculpture, but with so many ideas he has had to create another playground to canalize them. So here he gives you the Yebo Maycu project.
